With over two decades of extensive experience in Human Resources (HR) spanning both international organizations and the public sector, Dorcas Kemunto Nyaberi-Wainaina, OGW, is a trailblazer in human capital management and leadership. An MBA holder, PhD candidate,  certified Senior Professional in Human Resources – International (SPHRi), Certified HR Professional (CHRP), and a certified Leadership and Career Coach, Dorcas has a proven track record of delivering transformative HR solutions across diverse cultural and organizational contexts.

Her global experience includes leading HR operations and organizational change initiatives in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Her French speaking skills led her to successfully managed HR functions in French-speaking countries, and her work during the Darfur crisis in Sudan and tenure in Uganda and the United States exemplifies her ability to thrive in challenging environments. As a Board leader, she currently serves as Chair of the Board of Management at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital and has guided pivotal reforms such as spearheading the re-engineering of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and serving on the Nairobi County Health Reforms Taskforce.

Dorcas’s dedication to mentoring and empowering the next generation of professionals is evident in her passion for guiding young people in their career and life journeys. Her book, a comprehensive career guide, bridges the gap for young professionals transitioning from college to the workplace and provides seasoned professionals with valuable insights for career progression.

Renowned for her visionary leadership, Dorcas was the first female CEO of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in Kenya, earning the prestigious Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) for her contributions to advancing the HR profession. She continues to influence the HR landscape as a HR Technical Advisor with organizations such as The World Bank, ABMC International among other, guiding high-impact projects in organizational HR transformation.

An inspiring mentor and prolific speaker, Dorcas is devoted to shaping leadership capabilities with a focus to supporting the young professionals.
